Information Kalry handles
Kalry handles information you choose to provide so the app can calculate targets, analyze meals, keep your food history, and show progress.
- Account information: your verified Google email address, Google account identifier, name, and profile image when you sign in.
- Profile information: display name, age, height, weight, activity level, goal, and the formula option used to calculate starting targets.
- Nutrition information: meal names, meal type, portion description, measured weight, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, dates, and target values.
- Photos: meal photos you capture or choose to save with a food entry.
- Coach information: questions sent to Kalry Coach and relevant app context such as your targets and recent nutrition progress.
- Purchase information: Google Play product, entitlement status, renewal status, and expiry. Kalry stores a hash of the purchase token rather than the raw token.
How the information is used
Kalry uses this information to authenticate your account, calculate calorie and macro targets, analyze food photos, save and synchronize meals, answer fitness and nutrition questions, show progress, verify access to paid features when enabled, protect the service from abuse, and send the one-time onboarding email configured for signed-in users.
Kalry does not use meal photos or health-related profile details for advertising. The current app build does not include a third-party advertising network or product analytics SDK.
On-device and cloud storage
Guest profiles, meal logs, calendar goals, coach conversations, coach tasks, and saved meal images can be stored locally on your device. Signed-in accounts can also synchronize account, profile, meal, target, trial, subscription, and photo-reference information to Kalry’s backend.
Uploaded meal photos are stored through Cloudinary. Core account and nutrition records are stored in a PostgreSQL database. Session credentials are stored securely on the device; server session tokens are stored as hashes and expire after 30 days.
Service providers
Kalry uses service providers only where needed to operate a feature:
- Google: sign-in and Google Play subscription processing.
- OpenRouter and model providers routed through it: meal-photo analysis and Kalry Coach responses.
- Cloudinary: storage and delivery of synchronized meal photos.
- Resend: delivery of Kalry’s onboarding email.
- Database, hosting, and Upstash infrastructure: account storage, service operation, and rate limiting.
Information sent to these providers is limited to what the requested feature requires. Their own privacy terms may also apply.
Camera and device permissions
Kalry requests camera access so you can photograph a meal. The Android app blocks microphone recording permission and does not need audio to scan food. You can deny or revoke camera permission in device settings, although meal scanning will not work without it.
Retention and deletion
Account information and synchronized content remain available while your account exists. Session records expire after 30 days. Operational providers may retain limited security, delivery, or service logs under their own retention practices.
Deleting your account from the app removes the Kalry user record and associated profile, meals, uploaded photo records and Cloudinary assets, sessions, trial information, and Kalry subscription records. The app also clears locally saved profile, food, coach, and calendar data from that device. Google Play purchase records are controlled separately by Google.
Your choices and rights
You can review and change profile and nutrition information inside the app. You can remove your account through Profile → Delete account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information.
For a privacy request or if you cannot access the app, email support@kalry.app from the Google address connected to your account. Never send your password or Google security codes.
Age, security, and changes
Kalry’s profile setup accepts adults aged 18 to 100 and the service is intended for adults. Kalry uses encrypted network connections, hashed credentials, scoped ownership checks, and rate limits, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
This policy may change when Kalry’s features or providers change. Material updates will be reflected by a new date on this page.
